Shiva - Reduced Rover! Golden Retriever & Greyhound Mix New Orleans, LA

Shiva is part of the Reduced Rover program with Take Paws Rescue. Her adoption fee is $100 and includes 5 group training sessions!

My name is Shiva! I am the sweetest girl ever and LOVE people! I am approximately 2 years old, a beautiful retriever/ grey hound mix with the softest ears ever, and I weigh about 65 pounds.

I have lots of energy and love to play and go for walks but am also happy to cuddle on the couch or play with my toys in my crate. My favorite thing is to be around my humans. I am house and kennel trained. I am good with other dogs, though it’s helpful for me to have slow intros to new pups since I get excited to meet them! It seems like in my life before rescue I was accustomed to small doggos, so slow intros with medium sized-dogs my size is best! Once I am comfortable (in no time) I play well, or also am fine coexisting and giving the dog its space.

My foster parents are so impressed with how quickly I learn new things. I am up to date on all my vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and ready for my forever home! I have so much love to give, so please apply if you are looking for a sweet and loving pup!

**Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue).

The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information.

2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals:
Puppies under 12 months - $350
Dogs over 12 months - $250


*Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
