Sheila is a 13 year old miniature Aussie mix who was at risk of being euthanized when her owner was terminally ill and could no longer care for her. She weighs 30 pounds.

Sheila is used to living as an only dog, but she does well living with some other dogs. Not uncommon for a senior, she doesn't like high energy young dogs, and she can be a little more dominant female, and would do best with more submissive dogs and really just likes her own space from other dogs. She is currently living in a foster home with other dogs. Sheila is good with cats - she has one in her foster home right now and is indifferent to them.

Sheila is doing well on house training and she does well in a crate, although she would prefer if she didn't have to go in one. She would love a quiet, and laid back retirement home to live out her years.

Adoption fee is $300.00 + tax (no checks)

Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.

Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
