Meet Seven

Is Seven your lucky number? We think it is now! Meet our boy, Seven! He unfortunately ran into some tough times when his landlord no longer allowed him in his owner's home, but he knows his luck is on the up and up!

Seven is a very playful and social boy! He loves time with his humans and enjoys chasing tennis balls around! Seven is available for adoption and foster at ACCT Philly. Interested fosters should email foster@acctphilly.org. Interested in meeting Seven? He is available to meet any day from 10am-6pm at ACCT Philly!

Behavior:
Per volunteer 4/15/24: Seven is a good looking big guy who loves to play and chase balls! He knows sit but can be a bit snatchy with treats. I petted him a little on the head, but he was more interested in exploring the play yard. He had so much fun, he was not at all interested in returning to his crate but I managed to coax him back in with treats.

Per Staff 4/13/24: Took Seven out with a volunteer group. He was wiggling in his kennel with soft eyes. He did try to push out a few times while leashing, and once leashed and out of kennel, Seven is STRONG. He pulls pretty hard and can be difficult to manage on leash. Once in a play yard he used the bathroom a bunch, he does appear housebroken. He was stressed in the yard with us, pacing around, excessively panting, pawing at the gate. He was extremely interested in other dogs and greeted multiple through the fence with mid level wags. He did not solicit much attention from us, I briefly scratched his back and he just continued walking and pacing. He would have some random moments of jumping up on us, but seemed more like stress jumping. Seven loves tennis balls and that did hold his attention well. He brings them to you and wants to play tug of war, does some play growling. I didn't want to play tug with the tennis ball since it's so small and didn't want to take it from his mouth, and he would trade for other toys. He can be a bit snatchy with toys and while holding his tennis ball in my lap and trying to grab it again, he did bite my leg accidentally (didn't break skin). On the way back to kennel he did pull back on leash a bit, but went in with treats. Editing the 12+ to 15+ out of caution for the snatching with toys

Per Staff 4/12/24: As soon as we got into the room Seven was rubbing against my legs and soliciting attention. He allowed all over pets with no warm up period and took some treats from me. He started off gentle but did get a little snatchy. Seven allowed all over handling with no issues. He stayed near me for msot of the eval, sitting by my feet and leaning against my legs. Happy to just be near you and getting attention. He's a happy, social boy that could definitely use some leash manners, but other than that is a very good boy! Grabs a toy to put in his mouth as he plays. Conscious of not mouthing people, and redirects onto a toy by himself quite well. Loves squeaky toys, will bring them up to you and begin play growling to illicit play. Allowed me to pet him and mess with him while he had the toy in his mouth and while play growling; not guarding. Can get snatchy with toys, got my hand in his mouth as he took toys a couple times but did not mouth down hard on me, quickly released. Trades easily for treats.
