Sasha (Spayed) (Photos 4/1/2024) Shepherd Mix Marietta, OH

Sasha is a beautiful 5-year old female Shepherd mix who was brought to the HSOV on April 24, 2023 and placed in an outside kennel. We believe that she was likely left in our care by her owner (or someone who was familiar with her) since there was a note left with her which gave a bit of information about Sasha.

Sasha has a brown/dark tan short smooth coat with white/cream markings on her chest, a long tail, and a lovely face with dark brown eyes, black shading on her muzzle, and large erect ears.

The note with Sasha which listed her name and age also had a short sentence saying that she was good with people .. but that she was not good with small dogs or cats.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Sasha was held for three days to give her family (if she was actually a stray) the opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership.

Since Sasha was not reclaimed, she was spayed on June 20, 2023 and was also given rabies vaccine.

Sasha has participated in several off-site events recently and was a terrific goodwill ambassador for HSOV. Sasha has done well with other dogs (and was especially fond of a senior Shepherd mix named Bear .. who was also looking for a fabulous home). We felt that this cute couple would be very sweet to adopt as a pair. But for some reason, it wasn't in the cards for them to experience a Hallmark movie ending. Bear was adopted and went to a great home on December 15, 2023.

Sasha was adopted on January 26, 2024 but came back to HSOV on March 28, 2024 (through really no fault of her own). Her new family reported that Sasha was a bit of an escape artist with athletic ability and was able to climb over the high fence in her new yard .. Unfortunately Sasha went over to an adjoining neighbor a few times (perhaps to introduce herself and to that family and their dog), but her visits were not welcomed. So for her own protection, her heartbroken adopter decided that she loved Sasha so much that she was willing to part with her in hopes that she would find a more perfect home.

Sasha is housebroken. This little sweetheart is good with children as well as other dogs. Sasha weighs 49 lbs. She is the perfect size for a nice companion to snuggle up with and share snacks while you watch your favorite tv shows.

These updated photos were taken on April 1, 2024 when HSOV Kennel Tech Rachel Elizabeth treated Sasha to extra TLC while she enjoyed the fresh air, sunshine, and green grass beneath her paws. Sasha is a pushover for attention and stayed close to Rachel to hear what a 'good girl' she was and to soak up loves and hugs. Sasha gave some of the cutest ever 'sit pretty' poses for Rachel, and we note that she has Perfect Posture in many of those poses and kept her back very straight.

Since Sasha is already spayed, she could leave our shelter immediately either for adoption, foster, or foster-to-adopt with an approved HSOV adoption application.
