Sandy Miniature Poodle & Dachshund Mix Houston, TX

Sandy is timid with new people and situations and despite being honest about this, she has been adopted and returned twice through no fault of her own.
Ideally, she would be adopted with her best buddy Pippa.

She is vaccinated, dewormed, spayed, microchipped with lifetime registration to the rescue, heartworm negative and on monthly prevention.

Sandy is shy with new people and situations and takes a while to warm up. But once she feels comfortable, she is a big lovey and doesn't have a mean bone in her body. She likes to run and play with all of the other fosters and snuggle on the sofa equally. She hangs out of the sofa during the day and usually sleeps in her crate at night. She is also good in the car and likes going for rides.

She needs a backyard to potty in as she's not leash trained though.

She doesn't require regular full grooming unless you're wanting to keep her on the shorter side. But she does require a maintenance groom every few months and of course regular brushing which she enjoys and usually falls asleep in my lap while I brush her out.

After the application is processed and approved, a home visit and meet and greet with the dogs will be scheduled. If there are any fencing issues, make sure that repairs are done prior to the home visit. Typically, the adoption is finalized the day after the home visit and meet and greet. Out of area adopters would need to drive/fly in to meet the dogs and adopt.
