Samara Husky & Border Collie Mix Winston-Salem, NC

Reintroducing Samara! This Blue eyed beauty was adopted from us in March but unfortunately things weren’t the perfect match and she’s back with the rescue again. Samara is a skittish girl who will require an experienced, patient owner with a fenced in yard (no invisible fences) and due to her nervous nature, we would prefer no children living in the home or regularly visiting.

Samara is a 2 year old, 50 lb spayed husky/border collie mix. She came into the rescue at around 6 months old with her sister as an accidental liter who had been kept outside in a dog lot without socialization. Samara is very shy and takes time to warm up. She requires experience, persistence and patience, but once comfortable she’s a silly, goofy girl who loves being by your side and a good couch snuggle. She bonded quickly with her foster mom but made her foster dad work a little harder. After some one-on-one time and a few trips to work with him he is her favorite person as well.

Samara is very dog and cat friendly. From 8lbs to 80lbs she loves all of them. She loves toys, plays fetch and loves running laps in the fenced yard as fast as she can. She will need at least one other confident and friendly dog in her new home to show her the ropes and that she can trust her new people.

Samara is housebroken and crate trained. She walks well on a leash, but sometimes can pulls in crowds of people. She would greatly benefit from professional training to gain confidence in these situations.

Samara will require a home with a physical fenced in yard (no invisible fences) due to her breed, energy, and timid nature. Please keep this in mind before applying because there will be no exceptions in this particular case.
