My name is Sam, but in my foster home, they call me "Thing 1." I'm a Belgian Malinois mix, about seven weeks old, and I've got two big brothers and one with a big attitude. I'm a bit on the shy side, but I'm starting to come out of my shell. I love cuddling, sunbathing, and hiding in the bushes. Sometimes, it's just nice to hang out with the other dogs, even if one of them has a chip on his shoulder. There's this Chihuahua brother who's really territorial. I've learned to give him his space, especially when he starts barking up a storm. But my best buddy is the standard labradoodle. He's big, he loves to chat with me, and he's always trying to steal my sock puppet. It's my favorite toy, and I'll chase him all over the place to get it back. I've also got Maverick, the adult Malinois, as a big brother. He's like my role model. Maverick teaches me how to be a big boy, showing me how to listen to commands and be patient. He's wise and gentle, and I look up to him a lot. My foster mom and dad are pretty impressed with me. I follow them around loyally, and I'm starting to put on some much-needed weight. I've even learned how to sit and wait for my food with patience. It's delicious, by the way! Life in my foster home is exciting and full of new experiences. I may have started out as a shy little Thing 1, but I'm growing braver and more adventurous every day. With my pack by my side, I'm ready to take on whatever the world throws at me. And who knows? Maybe one day, I'll find my forever home, but until then, I'm loving every moment of being Sam, the curious and courageous pup.
