Meet Sally BAS

Sally was rescued by a neighbor who couldn't let her continue living in an outdoor kennel where no one paid attention to her.

With a guesstimated birthday in Aug. 2016, Sally weighs about 60 lb.

Sally is longing for a family that will allow her into their hearts and home. She is sweet and affectionate to all the volunteers and visitors. The other dogs bark like crazy when someone comes in, but not Sally! She stands wagging her tail, looking longingly for the visitor to take her home.

Sally waits for her visits outside to eliminate. She loves car rides. She is leash savvy, but pulls strongly. Volunteers are helping her learn better, but a prong collar is needed right now (Nov. 2022) to remind her not to pull.

Sally is dog selective, preferring puppies to adult dogs. We believe this can be overcome in time with an experienced owner. She doesn't react toward a dog unless it is turning to face her or entering her personal space. We believe, due to living in solitary confinement before rescued, she didn't learn that other dogs can be trusted.

This adoptable pup is being housed at our Bunch Anderson Shelter Building in Lenoir.

**********

Whether dogs / puppies come in as strays or owner surrenders, we usually have to make our best guess as to birthdate and breed.

If adopted into a home with other animals, particularly cats, your new pet should be crated or secured when you're not available to supervise to insure a harmonious relationship.

A vet reference is required to confirm responsible pet ownership. Requirement is a minimum three year vet history documenting current / previous pets are spayed / neutered, kept up to date on core vaccinations, and on heartworm prevention. We suggest first time pet owners without a vet history look for an adult dog for companionship and to gain experience. Other rescues or your local government-run animal control agency may have different adoption requirements.

Adoption fee covers two vaccinations plus spay / neuter if using our local low-cost spay/neuter clinic (overnight stay required) and surgery occurs as agreed upon in the adoption contract. Convenience fee equal to refundable spay/neuter deposit may be required if, using our veterinarian or same-day surgery, service is scheduled through our organization. Additional fees for 3rd puppy vaccination, refundable spay/neuter deposit, etc. may apply.

We are an all-volunteer, foster-based rescue. We receive no funding from agencies. Available animals can be seen most Saturdays at Tractor Supply in Lenoir from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We recommend interested parties contact us to pre-qualify for adoption so their new furry family can go home once paperwork is complete. Fees are required in cash. For more information on our organization, our website is www.petpartnersrescue.org.
