Ideal Home: Adult [human] females; ([human] males may be possible eventually, but as of now, Sally is not a fan; other dogs possible pending meet & greet.

Fun Fact: Sally is a talker! When she sees people, her vocalizing isn't a bark as much as it is a distinctive, happy sound that is all her own.

Like many shelter dogs, Sally's past is an unknown. Hers, however, is particularly mysterious. After being caught in the city as a stray by a professional trapper, it was discovered that Sally had a deep gash in her neck along with several smaller cuts to the head and face. With the exception of just a very small portion of the largest wound, Sally's physical wounds have healed. Emotionally, though, she may be carrying some baggage as she shows a pronounced preference for women as opposed to men. With women she is extremely affectionate. In fact, in the short time she's been at HumaneCNY, she's built up a very large fan base of both staff and volunteers. She is currently one of the most requested dogs for walking by the volunteers. Sally has shown herself to be easy to walk as well as good in the car. While she does enjoy greeting people with her own inimitable vocal stylings, Sally's obvious excitement fortunately does not lead to a whole lot of jumping. She displays intelligence and somehow knows how to take treats gently. Sally loves to cuddle, and we swear she aspires to the role of lap dog. She really just wants to be with someone. We wish we knew what she went through, but unfortunately we never will. The best we can do for her is to leave the past behind and insure that the days of her future are filled with love, affection, and people she can rely on to keep her safe.
