Saffron Chihuahua Rochester, MN

Hi! I’m Saffron (yes-like the spice!). I’m around 2 years old and had to leave my former home after my mom couldn’t take care of me anymore. Although I was super scared when I arrived, I’ve really come out of my shell! My foster mom tells me I have a ton of personality and am pretty much the sweetest girl ever. It takes me a while to warm up to people but, once I identify you as “my person”, I’ll be by your side wherever you go.

While I am a one person kind of girl, I am learning to tolerate other members of the household – belly rubs and endless praise help a lot! I am very nervous around small children so a home with older kids/adults would be best for me. I am still working hard on potty training and do best with a routine. Since I sometimes forget myself, my foster mom puts a diaper on me so that I can cuddle with her on the couch. I really don’t mind it since it means I get lots of pets and attention!

I love walks and I love to play – doesn’t matter if you’re a big or small, dog or cat! There is a big ole’ dog at my foster home and we play chase in the backyard every day. There is also a tiny chihuahua (even smaller than me!) and he and I wrestle pretty much nonstop. I’d love to have a playmate but would also be happy as the only pet in the house.

I’d love if you worked from home (I am a Velcro dog after all!) but could adapt to a variety of situations as long as I get lots of love and affection.
