Sadie, born January 24, 2020 Shih Tzu Mix Lucknow, ON

Sadie is a former breeding dog

She came on to our care last summer

Her foster said;

"She is still on the leash all the time.
She comes to her crate when it's bedtime whenever the other dogs go to their crates - she just comes and she cowers and waits for me to pick her up and put her in her crate.
When I go to take her out of her crate she wags her tail and is all excited but she's still turns away and cowers so that I have to lift her out backwards and put her leash on.
She comes, when I avoid eye contact, to sniff my hand and give me kisses.
I talk to her and her tail wags like crazy while I'm picking her up I can pet her and I can snuggle her but as soon as I set her down she takes off."

She is very leary of being touched

She is a flight risk and therefore needs a securely fenced yard at her home

She is good with other dogs and would thrive in a home with one of similiar size and temperament

She is cratetrained

She had never been on a leash before coming in to our care in July

She needs a quiet home with a person with extensive experience with a former mill dog, and ideally another dog, as that is when she is most relaxed and most happy

She is fostered with cats

She is fully vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and spayed
