Meet Roxas - WAIVE ALL FEES

Update: ISO- RETIRED VETERAN
ALL FEES WAIVED FOR THE RIGHT PERSON!!

Roxas is beginning to believe he is going to be stuck here for yet another Holiday season and as it turned out, he was right. Please don’t let this boy be stuck here for the rest of his life.

He would be a wonderful comfort to a retired veteran that could use some companionship. We have given this a lot of thought. He just wants to share his love with and he doesn’t like to be alone. If you’re reading this and you know anyone that might be a good match for Roxas, a good companion, please share this with them. We will WAIVE ALL FEES for the right match. We just want Roxas to have a happy home, family and friend.

Some dogs have none of the luck….
That would be Roxas.

Dear Humans,

These nice people at the rescue wrote a biography for me, but no one reads it, so I asked if I could try.

My name was originally Ray Ray. I had a family who loved me but not for long. One day, they dropped me off here at the rescue and it was weird. They just drove away. I sat at the corner of the fence and watched them drive off. I sat there for awhile. I sat there and sat there. I thought they were coming back. They never came back.

I showed the nice people at the rescue that I could do tricks and knew commands. They hugged me and let me know they were going to find me a wonderful family that would never leave me. That felt like forever. I didn’t mind the rescue, but I missed snuggling up with my person at night. I watched lots of humans drive up and meet my friends. Sometimes they would leave with my friends. I wondered where they were going. Their tails were always wagging happily. I looked back at mine, tucked between my legs, bald where I’d nervously gnawed at it. I wondered if anyone would came to meet me.

One night in December, the lady at the rescue got all excited and she squealed, “Ray!! You have a meet and greet!” What in the world did that mean? They got me all spiffed up and said I was about to meet someone special! I was so excited! I ran and sat at the corner of the yard again… waiting for a car to show up! Maybe this one would take me with them… like the cars that came for my friends. I looked back at my tail. It was wagging!

The most wonderful young man came out to meet ME!! The very first thing he did was hug me! It felt wonderful!! I kissed his face and showed him what a good boy I am. He told the rescue that I was PERFECT! He said, “I love him already!” The lady from the rescue smiled and hugged me too. He told me he was taking me home! He didn’t have to tell me what to do next… I ran to his car and the minute he opened the door, I jumped in! I was going home! He turned to me and said, “You ready for your new adventure? I’m going to call you Roxas and we are going to be best friends!” My tail was thumping on the car seat!

I thought that my new best friend would love me forever. I thought we would play together every day. I thought we would go for walks together and at night I would sleep in his bed.

That’s not what happened, though. I know you can see how sad I am in my pictures. One night, I jumped in bed with my daddy, like I did every night. I fell sound asleep with him at my side, like I did- every night. I woke early in the morning and waited for daddy to wake up and let me out, like he always did. But he didn’t wake up. I knew he would be up soon because he always fed me my yummy breakfast, but he didn’t wake up. I jumped on the bed and laid with him. But he didn’t wake up. I realized something was very wrong… I started barking as loudly as I could. Someone needed to come help my daddy!

My daddy was gone. His mom and sister wanted to keep me, but I didn’t get along with their dogs, so I wound up having to come back to rescue. I miss my daddy with all my heart and I know he’s sad without me. He was my world.

So, now what do I do? I watch my new friends come and go at the rescue, wagging tails and all. I play outside all day and I sleep alone at night.

Do you have a place in your heart for a little lost soul like me? I could really use a good friend right now. Someone who is willing to share their bed, their couch and their heart with me. I promise to be a good boy and love you forever, even though forevers aren’t long enough.

If you think you could love me, gnawed tail and all, please fill out an application at Projectcecilrescue.com under the ADOPT tab. Please…

Love,

Ray Ray,
I mean… Ray,

No… Roxas

Update: We are absolutely heartbroken. Roxas was adopted at Christmas but sadly it did not work out. He has some separation anxiety and does not like to be left alone for long periods of time while his people are at work, most likely due to his many losses. He has been returned again. This boy cannot catch a break.
