Meet Rory
Rory is a young male German Shepherd who was abandoned with another dog in a rural area. At the time they were rescued they were very thin and wary of people.
Rory is a smart & affectionate young dog who has retained some puppy-like behaviors. We estimate he is about 1.5 years old. He is a good sized dog who weighs about 80 pounds.
Rory is house trained and kennel trained. He sleeps free at night. Rory has been crated over night and he is fine with that.
He is living with 4 GSDs (3 male and 1 female) and 2 indoor cats. He does well with the dogs and has integrated with his new pack. His interactions with the cats are respectful and playful. We believe he can live with a dog savvy cat.
Rory loads easily into the back of a truck. He does fine riding crated or free in the jump seat. Rory has started on basic obedience commands and leash training. He walks well on leash. He know sit and is fairly consistent with the down command.
When meeting new people Rory is best described as a skittish or wary dog. Once he gains trust in a person he is a very loving.
An ideal home for Rory will be with experienced owners who have the time to get him out in the world. He will need to work on socialization. A home with a compatible dog friend would be ideal as he gains confidence by being around another dog.
Rory needs a quiet home with people who are home more than they are gone. We are not recommending he go to a busy home or one with small children.

*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $450
* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $400
* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program! Seniors are special to us, so we offer two options:
(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $400 and this becomes a perpetual fee. You can adopt another SGSDR senior dog at any time from us in the future at NO CHARGE.
(2) If you aren't sure about your future adoption capacity, you may adopt your SGSDR senior dog for a reduced adoption fee of $250.
