Meet Roosevelt (READ BIO 1st)

Hi there! My name is Roosevelt and I'm a husky mixed with a few other breeds. If you swipe past my photos you will see my sister's DNA results. I am expected to be a large breed of 60-80lbs based on my current growth/weight patterns. Because I am largely a husky, I will have special requirements to adopt. Please be sure to read thoroughly and only apply if you fully qualify.

I am a fun, playful puppy with a TON of energy. Im working on my housebreaking skills. Expect with any puppy that there will be some accidents and you will need to continue potty training habits.

I am super dog friendly and LOVE to play with other dogs. I would do best in a home with another younger adult dog to play with and burn my energy. Husky breeds are high energy working breeds and will require professional training and the time/energy/space to properly exercise. I have not been tested with cats but because I'm young, I can likely be trained to do well with them.

I LOVE to play! Be ready for LOTS of energy. Also, I am a major talker. I get that from my husky side and have been known to howl when I want your attention.

Before adoption, I will be neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated with DHPP, bordetella, rabies vaccines, fecal tested and treated, flea treated, and dewormed.

I will not be ready for adoption until approx. early May when I've healed from my neuter surgery (scheduled for 4/28). Please note, we do not allow early adoptions even with the offer for you to get him fixed through your own vet.

Adoption Requirements: (All requirements are FIRM- No exceptions)
Must live in Southern California
Owns own home (No renters. Must be the home owner to apply)
***NOTE- Adult children who live with their parents and do not themselves own the home CANNOT adopt***
Homeowners insurance has no restrictions on breed of dog
Fully fenced yard of at least 6ft
Experience with huskies is a plus
Another medium/large dog in the home is preferred and will have priority above all other applications.

****Huskies are working breeds****

You can apply directly at www.friendsforliferescuenetwork.com/adopt

Some things to expect when adopting a puppy:
Pee/Poop accidents indoors
Chewing...LOTS of chewing
Biting (especially while teething)
Endless Energy
Needing LOTS of training & time

Be sure you're aware that adoption is a 15+ year commitment. That means, if you move to a new home...you take them with you. You make sure that home allows for a dog. If you have a child, get married, divorced, etc you also keep your dog. BE VERY PREPARED. Cute puppies grow up quickly and need someone with the time to train and care for them.

*Note: Due to the volume of emails during the pandemic, we will only respond to apps/inquiries that have read the entire bio and qualify for adoption. Please give us time to respond to your inquiry.
