RocketBoy Chihuahua & Dachshund Mix Kokomo, IN

Meet RocketBoy! He is a 1-year-old male mix of dachshund, chihuahua, beagle, pug, and yorkie, weighing 17 pounds. Rocketboy is friendly with cats and dogs of all sizes, as well as with people. However, he is timid and requires space and time to settle in. He lacks confidence, so a home with multiple respectful and patient dogs would be ideal for him.

RocketBoy needs a nurturing environment. He may struggle with change, but he can come around with patience. He loves playgroups and is extremely motivated by food. He enjoys snuggling, cuddling, and providing comfort.

Although he may be timid initially, once RocketBoy feels safe and comfortable, he walks well on a leash. He is both house and crate-trained and loves toys. While his basic obedience is good, he will benefit from continued training. His recall is excellent with those he trusts.

RocketBoy is a dog you can shape and mold. He is simply happy, joyful, and content, with no desire to push boundaries. He just wants to live, love, learn, and be loved. He is active but gentle and can easily walk a couple of miles, yet he is also happy to snuggle and relax while watching Netflix. Overall, RocketBoy is an easygoing, loving companion.

Nurturing patience, food, and unconditional love is the key to his heart. I promise he will not disappoint.

Among his litter, RocketBoy is calm and reserved but active and balanced. He is playful but knows how to be gentle and respectful of others. Balanced. He loves to be held, and nurturing comfort makes him happy. Rocketboy can entertain himself and enjoys playing with toys on his own. RocketBoy is very respectful but interested and will follow other dogs but offers space when needed. He has excellent manners, is both house and crate-trained, and walks well on a leash.
RocketBoy loves car rides, outings, social visits, and meeting new people, and other dogs come easily for him.

RocketBoy knows some basic obedience, but continued efforts are needed. His off-leash recall is reliable. Rocketboy is not a yuppie barker but will follow the pack. RocketBoy would do well in apartment or condo living. A fence in the yard is required. Another 2 plus playful active dog in the home is best.

All Adoptions Include:

• Rabies Vaccination: 1 or 3 years.
• All Age Appropriate Core Vaccinations Including Lepto & Corona. 1 or 3 years.
• Heartworm tested Negative.
•Receive monthly Heartworm, Flea, and Tick Prevention.
• Lyme Disease Tested Negative.
• Dewormed and Fecal tested Negative.
• All testing completed within 6 -12 months.
•All age-appropriate needs (blood work, dental, testing, and meds)
• Lifetime Microchip Registration includes free unlimited updates.
•Feed a quality protein diet

Adoption Processing:
•Adoption application review can take up to 3 weeks.
• A minimum of 2 Meet & Greets are required before adopting.
•A home check needs to take place.
• Out-of-state adopters are welcome at the adopter's expense.
• We Do NOT ship any of our adoptable pets.
• Adoption fees are paid at the time of adoption
•No exchange or request for money is required before adoption.
•No payment plans.

AHRS Former Adopter:
• No adoption fee is required; a donation of choice is expected, encouraged, welcome, and appreciated.

Training is an ongoing process that needs to be worked on daily. New issues and opportunities arise daily that have to be addressed and or rewarded. Continued training is a purity setting them up for success.
