Rina Shiba Inu Pittstown, NJ

UPDATE: Rina is in a foster home and making slow, steady strides. She loves her stuffies and they make her feel comfortable. She is living with other pups and even cats, and gets along well with both. She MUST have at least one other dog in the home. It helps her feel secure and helps bring up her confidence. Living in a puppy mill, her only friends were other dogs rather than people. She is housebroken and wells very well on leash. She is just a gentle spirit who needs a gentle, loving home!

Rina is an adult female Shiba Inu that was used for breeding in a puppy mill until they didn’t need her anymore. She doesn’t know how to be a dog, and is a very shy, shut down girl. She is not aggressive, just unsure of the world around her. She is good with other dogs, and being in a home with another confident pup may help bring her out of her shell. She will need a patient home willing to give her time, someone who understands puppymill dogs have had a very sheltered life and don’t understand the normal comforts of a home. She will also need someone very smart about keeping her on a no-slip collar/leash when outside as dogs like this can be a flight risk, especially in a new home.
