About

Coat length

Health
Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. Poor Rikki was adopted last year but after running into her and her owner the other day we have decided it would be best for Rikki to come back to us. The problem is that the adopter is giving Rikki no exercise, barely taking her out for potty breaks and Rikki has gained an unhealthy amount of weight. Rikki was part of the #eastlandcounty14. She is suspected of being used as a breeder dog in a dog fighting environment. She suffered abuse and neglect prior to being dumped on a highway with 13 other dogs before we rescued her. Rikki is timid of humans and slow to trust. She will need a patient person who understands and she CANNOT be left outside unsupervised for any period of time as she will jump/climb the fence to find her humans.
Good in a home with
Other dogs, cats, children, other animals. Rikki has been with small, medium, large and extra large dogs as well as horses, cows and a cat.

Petfinder recommends that you should always take reasonable security steps before making online payments.

Meet Rikki

Poor Rikki was adopted last year but after running into her and her owner the other day we have decided it would be best for Rikki to come back to us. The problem is that the adopter is giving Rikki no exercise, barely taking her out for potty breaks and Rikki has gained an unhealthy amount of weight. Rikki was part of the #eastlandcounty14. She is suspected of being used as a breeder dog in a dog fighting environment. She suffered abuse and neglect prior to being dumped on a highway with 13 other dogs before we rescued her.

Rikki is timid of humans and slow to trust. She will need a patient person who understands she CANNOT be left outside unsupervised for any period of time as she will jump/climb the fence to find her humans. Rikki is currently crate training and does fine in the crate as well as being left in the home outside of the crate. I have been leaving the radio on for her when I leave for long periods of time.

Rikki walks well on a leash, off leash and has excellent off leash recall.

Rikki is very affectionate and loving. Rikki loves to snuggle on the couch or go for a long hike on a beautiful day! Rikki just needs someone to build trust with her before they can take her home. We prefer someone within driving distance as it may take several visits for her to accept petting.
