Meet Rico Suave
Looking for a very unique dog? Both in looks and personality? Looking for a dog that’s housebroken and not destructive? A dog to snuggle and binge Netflix with? If you are, Rico might be the guy for you! Rico has had a rough past and we are hopeful that once he’s adopted he will live happily ever after.
Rico was found as a stray when he was under a year old. He was scared and injured. He spent weeks getting to trust his foster mom and recovering from a broken pelvis. Then he had to have double knee surgery. Finally he was happy, and healed and ready for adoption. He scored a great home. He was loved and thriving. Then his family grew and with the addition of a baby Rico spent his days scared and shaking in the corner. This went on for months, and his family realized they were no longer the home for Rico. So we got Rico back and unfortunately his former foster home was not an option.
He’s in a new home and again it took weeks to trust his new foster mom. We can tell you he’s going to have to have time to adjust in a new home. Once he does and he trusts you he’s so loving and loyal. Rico wants a happy retirement with a calm home. He’s good with small dogs but large dogs are a no go, they really scare him.
If you are a chihuahua lover and your home sounds like a good fit, please consider Rico. The bond you will build with him is truly extraordinary and worth the effort.
He likes toys and loves playing ball. He really makes his foster mom laugh daily because he’s just fun loving goofy guy. And just look at him. He is seriously precious.
He’s about 5 years of age. We think he might be a wired haired chihuahua mixed with a short haired chihuahua but we do know he’s 100% adorable.
The adoption fee for Rico is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.
