Oh, my word! We get a lot of great dogs in our program, but Truffle is amazing! Everyone who meets her loves her! She is such a gentle soul! We adore this little baby!

As beautiful, gentle, and loving as Truffle is, she is also very special. She has a serious heart murmur (4/6) and is on medication that helps her heart work better. She is active, but will also rest when she needs to.

We are seeking an experienced home for this amazing little girl that can provide Truffle with love, attention, and, as needed, veterinary care! She is absolutely wonderful! Her medications currently cost about $60 a month.

You couldn't ask for a sweeter dog or a dog that will give as much as she gets! She loves her time in her fenced yard and she enjoys walks in the neighborhood. She's not up for hiking the Appalachian Trail, but she IS up for short walks on the area Greenways, the NCMA, and joining her people at area cafes and breweries! We love this girl!

Meetings with our pets are currently made only with an approved adoption form.

All HEART dogs have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies, distemper, parvo, adenovirus, and hepatitis. Some have been vaccinated for Bordatella. All are tested for heartworms and, if they test positive, have either been treated or provided alternative slow-kill treatment. Dogs are provided monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Dogs are also provided additional medical care, as needed. This care may include amputations, wound repair, treatment for skin disorders, dental care, treatment for infection and other medical needs.
