Meet -Rascal and Leonard in Maine
IN MAINE:
Here are the two newest members of our Maine pack: Rascal and Leonard! We are spreading the word for our friends at the Kennebec Valley Humane Society in Augusta that these senior brothers are looking for their retirement home together because they love each other so much!
These 13-year-old rough collie mixes were left by someone at a friend’s home, and he never returned to collect them. They are just the nicest boys! If there is another dog in the home, the dog would have to be mellow and respectful because these guys are not interested in being jumped upon. Same with children, so only kiddos 10 and up please. (Any dogs, and kiddos in the home would need to come to the shelter to meet them, of course.)
Leonard is a big, goofy, happy boy who enjoys the simple things in life! We'd say lazy walks, but he has a pep to his step when he walks! He also LOVES food; he knows what a treat pouch is and will muzzle boop it to tell you he wants a cookie!
Rascal is well, a rascal! This old gentleman lives for walks with his brother, Leonard. They are a bonded pair and must go to a home TOGETHER! Rascal also enjoys his cookies and hanging around with his people. Sometimes when he gets a pep in his step, he'll let out a cough to show his age; but he doesn't slow down! Update: Rascal is in heart failure so he is technically considered hospice but he is doing so well on his medication that the shelter decided to start looking for a home for both now so that once Rascal passes Leonard will not have to make another transition!
If Rascal and Leonard appeal to you, please fill out our adoption survey here so we can see if it might be a match: https://www.olddogsnewdigs.com/adoption-survey/
Please call the shelter at (207)626-3491 and ask about them! They are not currently at the shelter but in a foster home so that they are more comfortable.
