Meet RASCAL

Rascal is a spry senior who first came to PACC after a run in with a cactus. We didnt see how the cactus made out, but Rascal was full of cactus spines, so were assuming it was draw. While her name may conjure up images of wild puppy shenanigans, Rascal is actually a mature senior lady and wants to make sure you dont judge her by her name alone. You cant judge a book by its cover, right? Maybe that doesnt exactly fit, but you get it Rascal recently spent a bit of time in a foster home and her foster family described her as a lovely dog who just wants to be around her humans. She loves to cuddle and follow her people around the house and is gentle and affectionate with a moderate activity level. This senior is still spry! She was quiet while in her foster home and rode well in the car. She loves toys that she can rip or shred and will thrive in a home where she can get plenty of attention and a bit of training. Here's what Rascals volunteer friends have said about her: Ive enjoyed walking Rascal so much. When I first met her, she was easy to leash and exit from her kennel. She walked very well but what endeared her to me is that she likes to hug. She would stand on her hind legs and put her front two legs on my chest throughout the walk. It really felt as if she just wanted to be hugged. It was the sweetest thing and I wish I could have hugged her for as long as she wanted. But we continued our walk (with intermittent hugging) and she showed no reactivity to anything. This sweet older girl is overlooked and she obviously just wants a home that will give her love and affection. I'm hopeful for her! Rascal is a smart and sassy lady who has been in the shelter for way too long! She is confident and independent, yet affectionate. She loves attention and snuggles with volunteers when she's out on walks. Shes a senior but she has a puppy-level playfulness at times and acts middle- aged at best! This silver fox (yes, we know shes actually a lovely tan color) was fairly assertive when meeting other dogs in playgroup, so shed like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure its a good fit. Dont miss out on this girl- please ask to meet Rascal today!
