RANGER - never met a stranger Hound Mix Kittery, ME

Please let us introduce Ranger. What a sad start in life this sweet boy had! He and his sister were found at about 5 months old on a country road. They were in terrible emaciated condition and covered in bite marks.. It's believed that they were raised by a hunting dog owner and were dumped when they didn't meet expectations. The poor pups had likely been kept in a pen with other dogs where they had to compete for food.. Those bad days are behind them now and they're receiving lots of TLC in a kind foster home.

Ranger is now about 8 months old and weighs in at around 50 pounds. Breed is a best guess....possibly Hound/lab mix. Likely a Heinz 57 pup. His foster mom says he's super sweet, affectionate and smart. He makes happy little noises and will lean against you when petted. This funny, silly boy loves to toss his toys in the air and catch them.

Ranger gets along great with other dogs. He has not been observed around a cat. He walks very well on a leash and has made great progress with his house and crate training. A consistent routine and positive reinforcement are all he needs to master those things. He's a people-loving boy and has learned lots of commands. He is not fostered with children, but considering his sweet nature, we think he'd make a happy addition to a family with kids over 8.

Ranger has been neutered, micro-chipped and is up to date on vaccinations. He's also on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.
