HISTORY:
Raisin came from an open admission animal control facility.

ABOUT:
Raisin is a delightful, easy, cheerful dog. He is very quiet in the house, is a good boy in his crate, is housetrained, and is very respectful of the rules and boundaries his foster mom sets. He is doing well with the cat in his foster home and has never attempted to chase or bother her, but he is interested and curious. When she’s feeling overwhelmed she will give Raisin a hiss, which he respects so he should do well with a confident cat. Raisin is also being fostered with a 25lb blind/deaf senior dog and they do well together. Raisin was in play group at animal control and he did really well with both male and female dogs. He has met a few dogs on leash since being in his foster home and he has done well. He is very excited at first but calms down very quickly. He would probably love to have a more active canine sibling who likes to play, but would also be fine as an only dog. Raisin rides very well in the car.

Raisin has never met a stranger and is eager and happy to meet all people. He isn’t being fostered in a home with children, but we think he would be happy in a home with children. Raisin is your typical pittie snuggle monster and would love to sit in your lap. He is a great energy level; very calm in the house, but is always up for a long walk if you are. Raisin is calm and patient, but also very fun and animated. He’s not picky about his toys and will play with just about anything you have to offer him.

Before coming to animal control, Raisin’s rear leg was broken in two places and healed without veterinary care. We initially had him scheduled for surgery but after consulting with the specialists they determined that surgery was not a good option for him and that he is currently not in any pain. They said if he were to ever develop pain in the future that amputation would be his best option, so any possible adopter needs to be prepared for that as a possibility in his lifetime.
