Meet Rain

Meet Rain: Your Loyal Companion Awaits!

Looking for a furry friend who's more than just a pet? Look no further than Rain, the charming 1.5-year-old male cattle dog mix! Rain has been an absolute delight in his foster’s household, bringing heaps of character and joy to every moment. Here's why Rain could be the perfect addition to your family:

Family Member/Fur Baby: Rain is a true gem. His vibrant personality shines through in everything he does. Like most cattle dogs, Rain adores being part of a loving family and forms deep bonds quickly. He's incredibly loyal and will stick by your side through thick and thin. Get ready for cuddle sessions galore – Rain loves nothing more than snuggling up with his pack – human and dog.

Jogging/Running Partner: Need a fitness buddy? Rain is up for the challenge and would love to accompany you on your runs or jogs. Rain is a perfect co-pilot in the car, ready to have an out door adventure with you!

Sensitive Soul: Rain thrives on positive reinforcement and affection. Harsh corrections can cause him to shut down, so gentle guidance is key.

Fabulous Companion For Your Dog: Rain enjoys the companionship of his furry friends and thrives in the company of other dogs. Rain is a gentleman when it comes to sharing – he does not resource guard his food, toys or space. Rain would enjoy a secure fenced in yard with another playful dog in the home.

House Manners: Say goodbye to accidents – Rain is already a pro at keeping the house clean! Rain is housed trained. He does not counter surf and is not destructive in the home. He does alert bark so you will never be surprised by a visitor.

Training Skills: Rain has mastered basic loose leash walking, as well as basic commands like sit, down, place, and "leave it," and has a solid recall. He's also learning to control his "alert" barking and is making progress with the "Back Up" command. Rain is now house trained.

Squirrel Obsessed: Rain can't resist chasing squirrels, so adult households or those with dog-aware children are ideal to keep him safe.

If you're ready to welcome Rain into your heart and home, get in touch today! This lovable canine companion is waiting to bring endless love and joy into your life.

Visit STAF.org for more information on our adoption process and our adoption application

. *** Email adoptadog@STAF.org for next steps! ***

• All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
• We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting.
• You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF.
• We require a 4-foot-tall physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog’s behavior and exercise needs.
• Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences.
• We do request vet and personal references.
• We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
