Meet Rafiki!

This handsome hound is ready for his forever home! Rafiki came to us from a hoarding case in Vanleer with nearly 40 other dogs. They were completely unsocialized, terrified, and in very rough shape. Rafiki and all of his friends suffered from a condition called Demodex mange, a non-contagious type of mange caused by malnutrition. Fiki and his friends went through months of biweekly medicated baths, lots of antibiotics, and lots of love before they were medically cleared and ready to find new homes. Rafiki was one of a small number of males from the case, born roughly 05/31/2019. He took his time warming up to people and deciding he could trust us. Thankfully, due to the help of a dedicated group of volunteers, Rafiki got to spend lots of time socializing with people and now has learned to trust people. He is not he overly affectionate, social butterfly dog you may picture of a typical pup, but he has his own goofy personality and has shown us how sweet he can be. He enjoys a scratch on the head, but if he really, really likes you, he will roll over and request belly rubs.

He is fully vetted, microchipped, and neutered. Although he walks well on a leash for his most trusted handlers, Rafiki is still very easily spooked and is a flight risk, so we require a fully fenced yard for his forever home. His adoption fee is $175.
