Meet Raen - Fostered in Omaha
Feeling a little too good about yourself? Need a little reality check? Do you suffer from a lack of judgy looks in your life? Look no further than Raen!
This former breeding mama is sweet but shy, stoic, and suspicious at firstand by at first' we mean the first MONTH OR TWO! She will observe and assess your every move, sizing you up and making sure that you are trustworthy. Her affection is hard won, but once she decides you're okay, the looks change to love and adoration. Unless you try to take her to the vet. Or make her do something new and scary. Or make her walk on a leash.
She is learning how to be an inside dog and loves to be the queen of the couch and play with toys. She will sleep quietly in a kennel in your room at night, or at the foot of the bed (as long as there aren't any other temptations in the room to get a girl into trouble). We keep telling her boundaries are good, but so far she's not so sure we're right. She's busy learning the basics, like alerting to go potty, kenneling on command, and learning off, wait, sit and no. She likes food, and when given a command you can see the internal struggletorn between, I want that treat and you're not the boss of me.
She's not well suited to apartment life since she objects loudly to her kennel for the first 20 minutes or so when you leave. She needs time, space, and room to zoom to complete her potty time, so a fenced yard is a mustshe also prefers company out theregirls go to the bathroom together, ya know?
This solid girl can be picky about her dog friends, and is rough and tumble, which may be too much for smaller dogs. She doesn't like to share her food (we don't know about you, but we can relate), and must be fed separately with the bowl put up when she's done.
