Prescott Pit Bull Terrier Philadelphia, PA

Prescott was brought in on 4/9 by the police when he was found inside a vehicle. Although his life may have been quite scary before, he has proven to be a sweet boy.

Day Trip Notes: 4 "Day trip notes 4/14: I got to take Prescott for a doggy day out yesterday. Prescott was a bit timid at first and may appear standoff-ish, but give him time. He waited until we got outside the shelter to pee, then we got in the car. He took treats very gently. When we got to my house, he cautiously walked around; he was very excited to enjoy a bully stick in the crate and hung out there for a bit. We set out for a walk. He likes to stop, sniff, and mark his territory. He was not interested in other people, including runners and babies. He was scared of little dogs, but boy, did he perk up when dogs his size came along. He was not reactive, did not pull, he just wanted to say hello. His tail did not just wag. It moved a full 360 degrees! He doesn't seem to know sit, but doesn't jump for food either. He didn't seem interested in scratches initially, but once he got some scratches around his ears, his tail started wagging, and he wanted more. By the time we headed back to the shelter a few hours later, he was calm and tried to rest his head on my shoulder, and wanted to lick my face and my hand as we were driving. I think he's a very sweet dog who needs a little confidence and a lot of love ."

During a behavior assessment on 4/11, staff noted : "While walking Prescott would try to stop and say hi to people while wagging and remaining loose."
