Year of Birth - 2021

Posie is a beautiful chi mix who came to our foster program several weeks ago. She was so afraid and would curl up in a corner at her foster home. It has taken some time for her to be comfortable and enjoy her stay in her foster home. She trusts her foster family and they have really loved her stay with them.

She is a very quiet little girl when she is not alone. When left alone, she will bark at noises and cries. This has improved greatly since her move to foster care. She is much more comfortable being left alone now than in the early days. She will do a few barks when company visits and then settles down. Any visitor who met her loves her, she is a sweet little girl.

Posie has so much love to give and she adores getting attention. She likes it when her foster family talk to her, gives her belly rubs and where she can sit on or near her foster family.

She has made some great strides with socializing with other dogs in the short time as well. She did live with another male dog, but they were not close. She was underweight when she came to us and gobbled her food. She knows she will get all the food she wants and her gobbling has stopped. Posie is learning to relax, play and have fun! She can still be a little protective at times but with the right introductions, she learns to trust and will continue with the right adopter.

We don't know about cats and Posie, she does not live with cats.

Posie has lost some of her eyesight which affects her sight. That doesn't stop her from loving her new life!

Her favourite activities are going for walks, cuddles, belly rubs, treats and being talked to and handing out with her foster family. She has gained so much confidence to play and enjoy her zoomie time. She loves being praised and hear she is a good girl! She sometimes will hide her treats and bones. they mayt be found anywhere in the home :-) She is a collector too - socks, paper, cloths, clippers or anything laying around!

Posie enjoys sleeping curled up in a fluffy dog bed on the floor beside her foster family. She would also enjoy being welcoming into a bed that is not too high as she can jump up but can't jump down due to her eyesight issues.

She isn't a fan of car rides, she shakes and tries to hide. She doesn't use crate or needs one. She is known to do occasional howls waiting for her foster family to get home.

The ideal home for Miss Posie is someone who can be with her the majority of the time, spend time with her, spoil her and walk her. She is looking for all the love and affection she can get! She will let you know if she doesn't want to be handled due to her previous home with young children.
