Porkchop American Staffordshire Terrier & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Saint Charles, IL

**Porkchop is located in the St. Charles, IL area. We prefer to adopt out within the Chicagoland area**

Porkchop was found wandering in Southern Illinois. When nobody claimed him, he was transported to Illinois Animal Rescue. We did a DNA test because we were curious what he was made of--per the test he is 47% American Staffordshire terrier, 27% Pit Bull Terrier, 11% Mastiff, 10% Neapolitan Mastiff, 4% American Bulldog and 1% Bulldog. He is lab sized but with a more muscular build. He has medium energy and is not too barky.

Porkchop is pretty young, we believe about 1-2 years old. He is a sweet, playful and happy boy--an absolute love bug that will follow his people anywhere. He walks pretty well on a leash and is potty trained. He loves helping his foster mom cook meals (i.e., sitting and watching every move in case food falls) and then assisting her in eating (i.e., sitting with his head on her lap).

He currently lives with several cats and a Lab mix. He loves to wrestle and play with his doggie friend, but he IS strong, so he probably would do best with larger dogs. He hasn't been around any children, but our best guess is that due to his size and strength, he would do best in a home with older children.

Porkchop is currently in training to improve his manners around people (he will jump) and greeting dogs (he will pull and bark at dogs on leash). He doesn't have a mean bone in him, but it never hurts to put your best paw forward.
