Are you looking for a dog that perfectly balances zest for life with a couch potato attitude? Poppy may be your girl!

Poppy is a 55 lb mixed breed dog who was born approximately 9/15/2020. She has matured into a wonderful home companion and has grown out of all of the puppy naughtiness without losing her playful spirit. She has a clownish personality and a great sense of humor that help her charm everyone she meets. She is very sweet and an enthusiastic lover of people!

Poppy is housetrained, crate trained, and is used to being left alone during the workday. Her exercise needs are minimal - she likes to go for walks (and has good leash manners!), but she is equally happy with just a session of romping around with a toy. When hanging out in the house, Poppy likes to just chill on the couch or chew on a toy. She's perfectly content living the quiet life!

Poppy has a history of on-leash reactivity toward dogs and bicycles. She has done really well with training and shown great improvements! Her foster home is ready to share everything her forever home needs to know to help her be successful.

When she is introduced to other dogs off leash, she does great and loves her canine buddies! She is equally playful with cats, which unfortunately cats do not appreciate due to her size. Ideally, she is looking for a cat-free home. She would do well in a home with or without other dogs (Poppy would need to meet any other dogs in the home prior to adoption to ensure they are a good fit).

Due to her reactivity when she sees other dogs on leashed walks, Poppy is looking for a home with a fenced yard or one that is rural enough that she won't be constantly encountering unfamiliar dogs. A home with very young children would also not be appropriate for Poppy, though she does fine with older kids (12+).

Poppy has a background of very good training, and she is excellent for nail trims, riding in the car, and not pulling on the leash. She knows sit, down, stay, and comes when you call her name! She is smart and food motivated - she'd love to learn even more tricks!

Thia bubbly, charming girl has so much love to give the right person or family! She is easy to live with at home and has many years of life left for snuggles and playtime. If you're looking for a dog who will be super excited to see you come home from work and then immediately be ready for chill time, consider Poppy!
