Meet Poppy
Poppy is an estimated 11 year old, Coonhound mix who was brought to our shelter after spending most of her life outside in a kennel behind an abandoned burnt down cabin. Upon arrival to our shelter Poppy was taken to be seen by our vet's office. Unfortunately, the news from the medical team was not as expected. Poppy had a large tumor on her spleen that required removal, and two large mammary tumors were also identified, resulting in lumpectomies. Post-surgery, Poppy's chest x-ray looked clear, and we are now awaiting biopsy results.
