Popeye Shih Tzu Mix Schaumburg, IL

Ahoy matey! Popeye here. While I’m no sailor man, I will always try to make you laugh! I am a 14 pound Lhaso Apso/Shih Tzu mix and if I had to describe myself in one word I’d probably say friendly. I love attention and enjoy times spent snuggling on a lap and getting belly rubs.

I am only 18 months old so I’m still picking up some basic house skills. I’m doing well with my house training and already know the command “go potty!” I never chew anything that isn’t mine and am not picky with my food. In my crate, I take a few minutes to get settled but am fine in there overall. If I had the choice though, I’d much rather be on the couch with you. I also enjoy looking out the window and scaring away those little critters with my ferocious bark! (A single family home would probably be best for me.)

When I first arrived at my foster home, I’ll be honest, I was pretty scared. But after a few days, I realized that home life is a ton of fun! I love playing with the resident puppy and get along fine with the cats in the house. I also enjoy going on car rides and running around the backyard. 

Just like the comic strip character, I hope to capture the hearts of those who meet me. Sail on over to the show this Saturday to say hi!
