Meet Pippa

Miss Pippa is an easy going Lab whose mission in life is to be you best friend. She’s about four years old, has a luxurious chocolate coat and is a perfect 70ish pounds. Pippa, a stray, came to us at a whopping 105 pounds, and thanks to her foster mom as her personal trainer, is quite proud of her new figure.

Pippa is house trained, fine with free roam of the home, knows sit and stay, and is a happy, polite greeter. Leash manners are pretty good, and she is a delightful passenger on car rides. Our good natured girl has enjoyed meeting children of different ages, and playfully gets along with the many dogs in her foster home, big and small. We don’t know about cats. Faves include: eating, counter surfing when your back is turned, tennis balls, walks and lots of swimming.

More from her foster mom:
“Pippa is an all-around great dog. She is very engaging, friendly to humans and dogs, playful, comical, loves to cuddle with people or other dogs and is happy all the time. She loves being moderately active, but swimming is far and away her most favorite activity. She will retrieve a tennis ball from the water until you make her stop She is easily trained and wants to please. Pippa likes doing whatever her person is doing. She'd go on a hike with you in the morning and nap with you in the afternoon.

“The best forever home for Pippa? Pippa would fit into almost any situation. Other than a sedentary household, she will thrive anywhere she gets plenty of attention and adequate exercise. She needs to go to a home where they will be diligent about not leaving any food out ANYWHERE, including under the front seat of the car as she will search it out if given the chance. She will counter surf like a ninja and you won't know anything is missing until you start looking for it! Pippa would love a home that will take her swimming whether it be an indoor pool in the winter or a lake or pond in the summer. As long as she doesn't have to break ice, she's in!

“Pippa is a wonderful Lab who will worm her way into your heart in no time at all!”

Note from Miss Pippa: “Hey, my-maybe new family! I’m living my very best life ever these days! My friends at Safe Harbor says I’m one special Lab and must live with a committed family that will ensure my ongoing health needs are met. I’ve got inflammatory bowel disease that is successfully managed with a strict special diet (no letting me get in the trash!) and daily oral medication. In addition, moderate exercise is best for me since I have prior knee injuries that have healed without surgery. My foster mom who makes me blush with all her compliments, will be happy to discuss all the details with you!”
