Phoebe came from a wood mill property in Memphis. It was a dire/neglectful situation. We think she suffered from head trauma, which left her unable to walk on her own and pretty helpless. Her Memphis foster moms cared for her and kept her safe until she could be transported to Pittsburgh. Her northern foster parents got started on physical therapy right away. This has helped tremendously. She does treadmill therapy, and balancing exercises among other things. She has made huge strides and can walk with a wheelchair. She’s really feeling her independence!
Adoption fee is waived at this time as we expect the adopter to continue with physical therapy. Our goal is to hopefully having her walk on her own one day. She’s gaining strength daily!
