Background Info:
Perseid and his brother Ceres were found on someone's porch huddled together. They were emaciated and caked in their own excrement and mud. A family member brought them to the city pound where they were never claimed.

Adoption Fee: $125.00
Breed: Pit Bull mix
Sex: Male
Age: 10 to 24 mts
Weight: Growing

Health Condition:
Perseid appears to have suffered from severe neglect and malnutrition before his rescue. He came to us looking much younger than he probably was, as his growth was stunted due to lack of proper nutrition. Much to our surprise however, he did not show any health concerns during his checkup. We treated parasites and gave him essential nutrients and vitamins. It only took a few weeks for Perseid to blossom into a healthy and happy little guy.
?
Physical Description:
Perseid is not completely full grown yet, but smaller than average for a pup his age. In fact, he has an adorable puppy appearance that he probably will keep all his life. Perseid's main distinction is his pronounced underbite. It's so cute though that it doesn't stop him from getting all the "awes" from passersby. He is so cute!!! And as his coat becomes healthier, it's developing a beautiful blue tri-color pattern. He sure is a handsome little dude.
?
Current Living Situation:
Perseid is fostered in a home with two dogs. A 15-year-old male Shepherd mix who is kept separate from him due to his advanced age, and a two and 1/2 -year-old female Pitbull mix. There is a teenage boy in the home and a single mom.

Percy has learned the ropes of indoor family life, even though he is still very much a teenager himself. He is crate trained and mostly housebroken. The foster home has a large yard with a 4' picket fence, which he respects.

Personality:
Perseid is thriving in his foster home. He loves to play in the giant backyard on sunny days, then snuggle-up with his foster family. Perseid is learning to walk on a leash and is doing fantastic. He's also great with his kennel time during the day, while foster mom works, and at night while he sleeps.
?
If you are looking for the happiest little guy to be your best friend and do everything with you, Perseid is your guy! This fun-loving boy couldn't be happier to have the life he has now, especially considering where he came from. He sure has come a long way in just a few weeks.

Percy follows his foster mom everywhere she goes in the house, and loves being her little shadow. That said, he understands that sometimes his four-legged foster siblings need to have free reign of the house too, and he is quite content just being in his room by himself with his toys.

Need a snuggle pal for those movie nights? Percy loves to squeeze right into your nook and lay his head on your chest. He's basically a Casanova!

Perseid is getting a ton of social time while in foster care. He loves to go on car rides and visit all the dog-friendly stores or patios with his foster mom and her friends. He will work the crowd of fans he makes at each stop!

Percy has to rotate sleeping spots with his foster doggy siblings as their introduction is still in process. Some nights he sleeps quietly in his kennel and others he snuggles in with foster mom in her bed.

Perseid is trying his best to be potty trained and will alert foster mom by running to the back door. Foster grandma stops by most days to give him and the others a break during work hours.

Percy does well with leadership and structure, and would do awesome with a family who wants to continue obedience training with him.
?
Overall, Percy is a happy silly goofball! He loves to play fetch and will also throw his toy up in the air himself so he can chase it as fast as his little legs can take him. He also loves to happily bounce around the backyard, checking every cranny for possible rabbit intruders. In fact, we think Percy would do best in a home with a secure fenced yard as his prey drive is developing.

After his cardio in the yard and around the living room, Percy loves to chill on the couch or bed and get as many tummy rubs as he can!
?
Behavior with people:
Perseid has built more confidence since being with us. He is now a silly goofball who just wants to be adored. Perseid indeed loves to meet all people. He enjoys gazing into someone's eyes and putting them under his love spell.

Percy goes to the coffee shops quite often with foster mom and has made a ton of friends. He goes to each group of people that welcomes him to get all the lovin' he can!

Behavior with children:
Percy seems to love children. Please keep in mind that he is still very much a kid himself and currently entering that somewhat rambunctious teenage stage, so he would probably do best with older kids.

Behavior with other dogs:
Perseid has shown that when around a submissive female, he takes the opportunity to be the dominant one. We think he would be best as an only dog or have a very very slow introduction with a compatible female.

Behavior with other animals:
Perseid spent a few days in a home with a large cat before he came to his current foster and seemed ok with it. We will not rule out a home with a feline friend for him, but cannot guarantee immediate success. When it comes to animals outside, Perseid has a medium prey drive that may increase with maturity.
?
Best attribute:
Perseid's best attribute would be his ability to capture your heart. He has powerful soulful eyes that will put you under his spell!
