Meet Pepper
Pepper is one of our newest arrivals, and she's such a sweetheart. She's a petite girl, currently around 55 lbs (but she could use some groceries...we're working on that). She came to us recently after being rescued from a home where she wasn't being well cared for. Pepper is understandably a bit shy and unsure of all the recent changes in her life, but once she knows you're safe, you've got a friend forever.
Pepper is just over a year old. We're told she loves to play tug of war and fetch, and we're hoping to see more of that side of her as soon as she's recovered from her spay surgery. We are also told she was crate and house trained in her previous home and plays well with other dogs. Pepper seems to know a few basic commands, but may need a refresher once she gets settled in with her forever family.
Like all young dogs we help, Pepper would thrive in a home where she has direction and consistency. We encourage all adopters to seek the help of a professional trainer in the transition time to set everyone up for success. Pepper specifically may benefit from working on leash skills, as she tends to get excited about where she's going and will pull a bit. But she says, why walk when we could drive? She'll be happy to help navigate.

Our Adoption Fees:

*Dogs and puppies 12 months old or younger: $450
* Adult dogs over 12 months of age: $400
* Senior dogs over 7 years of age qualify for our "Seniors FUREVER" program! Seniors are special to us, so we offer two options:
(1) If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $400 and this becomes a perpetual fee. You can adopt another SGSDR senior dog at any time from us in the future at NO CHARGE.
(2) If you aren't sure about your future adoption capacity, you may adopt your SGSDR senior dog for a reduced adoption fee of $250.
