Meet Penelope
Penelope came to SparKy in January 2023 with four babies. Unfortunately one of her babies didn’t make it, but the other three thrived and found forever homes. Shortly after she arrived, Penelope had to undergo an emergency spay due to pyometra- a uterine infection that can be deadly if prompt action is not taken. It was also discovered at that time that Penelope was heartworm positive. She has been treated, but her adopter will have to agree to have her retested six months following her final treatment and keep her on regular heartworm preventative for the rest of her life.
Penelope is not good with other dogs and can be aggressive with cats, so she needs to be in a home without other animals. Penelope loves people, but she can exhibit some food aggression so she would need to be in a home with older children who would respect her boundaries.
