Meet Peanut
Peanut, along with his brother Butters, gave us quite the scare. At arrival on September 23th, they were bouncing around and handing out affection to no end. Four days after arriving they fell ill and were rushed to the Vet. The brothers tested positive for Parvo.
Their Foster and the Vet sprung into immediate action with supportive care to help keep the boys as strong as possible as they fought through parvo. These now 15 week old babies not only pulled through they are thriving! Healthy 18Lb pumpkins. Underdog resilience!
Both boys are curious and affectionate. Both LOVE treats and toys. Our best guess is they will be in the 50-70lb range full grown. Each is ready to become a special treat to a lucky family, a family up for the task and excited by the opportunity to help either Peanut or Butters grow into a stellar canine companion.
Peanut is a smart and eager to please puppy who LOVES to play tug! He very often grabs a toy and goats his brother on to play with him. When he's playing tug with you he gets very into it and makes the funniest play growls and grunts.
With training he is observant, a quick learner and very treat-motivated. As soon as the treats are out he will quickly sit in front of you and focus on you. He knows "Go Potty", "Sit", "Touch", "Drop-it", and "Down". As with any puppy he will need continued training that reinforces these cues!
Peanut has the cutest forehead full of wrinkles, and a very smooshy muzzle that snores when he's sleeping. He enjoys being cuddled and petted.
Both boys are up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Rest of their puppy vaccinations, microchip, and neuter are included with their adoption. Adoption fee is $425.
Underdog does not have a shelter facility. All Underdogs reside in Portland metro foster homes. Peanut and Butters are being fostered in NE Portland.
