Oswald Irish Wolfhound Mix Palatine, IL

Oswald. 150 pounds of perfection. A mix of Irish Wolfhound and pure majesty.

He ticks all the boxes: housebroken, not a chewer so no crate needed (good thing, ‘cuz it would have to be huge), good with other dogs, leash friendly, mild-mannered.

We don’t know how old this handsome guy is: somewhere around 3-4 years. We do know he is sweet, easy, awesome. His foster mom says, “Ozzie is chill as heck. He likes to be close to you but to lay around and just relax all the time. He's sweet and has the most soulful eyes that will just make your heart melt. He has no concept of how big he is and shockingly can curl up into a ball and make himself fit in lots of unexpected places.”

The only ones wary of Oswald are the cat (probably not a good mix) and stuffed toys (who are dismantled in short order). Everyone else just succumbs to the magic that is Oswald.

Who has a big spot in their heart (and a car big enough to chauffeur him around)? This guy. Saturday. Yeah, this guy.

If you are interested in adopting this dog, you must send an application or email us at adoptions@sccrescue.org prior to a Saturday Adoption Event so we know you plan on attending. If we do not receive any communication from you, the dog may be adopted out at our event prior to 12 pm if the perfect home comes along. :-)

The breed or breed mix listed for each dog is simply a guess. The profile software program requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. However, visual breed identification is unreliable. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog’s individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess. Dogs are individuals.
