Meet Ollie
Meet Ollie, a sweet and active senior who is around 10 years old. Ollie weighs 25 lbs and is an American Eskimo Dog.
Ollie is a friendly, happy little guy who loves to play with his toys and walks great on a leash. He loves his walks, and while long hikes aren't for him, he would be a great dog for an active senior who likes to get out of the house a few times a day. He is fine meeting strangers.
Ollie has had a complete checkup and he's in great health for his age. He has some hearing loss as well as mild cataracts, but these don't hold him back at all. He also has some mild arthritis, which is barely noticeable as long as he gets regular walks outside.
Due to his partial hearing loss, he can't hear when people approach him, and that can startle him, so a home with children living there or visiting is not a good match. He's not a huge fan of other dogs-- if they get in his face he will bark his little old-man bark at them-- but he might be okay with another senior dog his own size. With a dog-savvy cat he met at the vet's, he was very interested, but polite.
His coat is sooooo soft and so much fun when you're snuggling on the couch! However, he is very sensitive about the pain if you let his coat get matted. His new home will have to commit to daily brushing and a trip to the groomer every 1-2 months to keep up his supermodel good looks.

NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.
We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
