Meet Oasis!
Oasis is a stunning 2.5-year-old blue male dane who is goofy, loving and affectionate once you get to know him, but is very timid in nature with strangers. He needs an experienced Dane owner who can work to build up his self confidence.
Oasis is the definition of loyal once he knows he can trust you, but that is earned and not given in his world.
During his initial rescue journey, Oasis took about 10 days to build trust with his foster dad. He was often in flight mode and would low growl when he was scared. He never acted aggressively and never tried to bite. His foster dad allowed him the space to seek him out and once he realized that he was ok he meshed right into the pack and has never looked back. With patience, and with the help of his canine companions, he eventually integrated right into the pack.
He would thrive best in a home with another young, giant breed playmate for companionship and guidance. He loves to play with his canine brothers, sometimes more than they want to. Currently living with three male Danes and a female Dane, Oasis relies on them for guidance and comfort and to release his energy.
Oasis will require an adopter who is willing to let him warm up at his pace/speed. The ideal situation would be a local area adopter who could do a few meet and greets with him at his foster home so that he gets to know you which will help him with the transition.
Oasis is excellent with other dogs but has a curious side around cats, so a cat-free home would be ideal.
He's heartworm negative, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
