Nova (FKA Wendy) Australian Shepherd Orlando, FL

3yrs old. Weighs 50lbs. Nova is a good calm girl. Great companion for a couple. Enjoys walks and car rides. At home, she lounges and likes to stare out of the window (probably to look for squirrels). :)


Pros:
-Very sweet, loving, and loyal
-Housebroken
-Low maintenance, usually keeps to herself
-Loves getting outside for her walks
-Has done well with being left home alone for 8+ hours
-Has amazing temperament, doesn’t mind being picked up and doesn’t mind if you touch legs, tail, belly, etc.
-Awesome guard dog, loves to protect the house during the night
-Very smart, almost to a fault
-Has never been destructive, except for her toys and stuffed animals
-Knows quite a few commands

Cons/Semi-Cons:
-Can be reactive towards other dogs, especially when trying to establish dominance
-May not be ideal for young children
-Coat sheds heavily (in certain seasons) due to her breeds
-Can be very stubborn and so sometimes struggles with obedience
-Has a habit of jumping on owners and guests, especially on first arrival due to excitement(has shown improvement with training)
-Pulls on a leash (is much better when wearing a harness)


She does NOT have a bite history.

She does get startled and spooked when accidentally bumped or touched when she’s not expecting it.

She will bring so much happiness and unforgettable memories, just like she has in her previous home. We are all hoping that someone is willing to give her a chance and see how great she is.

Her ideal home would be a home with a fenced yard for playtime (she can get spurts of hyperactivity). She needs a home without other pets.

She is current on shots, is spayed, and is micro-chipped.


MORE INFO FROM HER FOSTER (night #1):
She is just so calm and sweet. She does great in the car.
She loves staring outside so I put her bed by the glass so she could relax and still see everything. It took 2 hours for her to settle down and not worry about a cat wandering around out there. She was quiet all night. She growled at me this morning when I came downstairs. I could tell she was scared. I talked to her until she relaxed and then once she seemed ok, I let her out of the crate. (She warmed up after a couple minutes of chatting. I just sat on the floor on talked.)
She can be tough to walk because she is very excitable outside. She did try lunging towards another dog walking across the street the both times we saw a dog. She wanted to chase a squirrel, too. She’s very distracted when walking.
She likes to follow me around everywhere and then wanders off when she’s bored of me. She does come when called. She’s too curious to not follow me if I move. She jumps on the glass doors as well, intrigued by outside. Very curious and excited. She’s super quiet except when she’s whining about whatever she’s excited about. No barking yet! She had no problem in the crate. She was wagging her tail when put her in there and seemed happy.
A friend visited and she did great...just jumping up in excitement. She then started following her around!

1yr old. Recent mother. Sweet girl. Lots of energy. Would do best in a home with a fenced yard. She is fine with other dogs, except when it comes to her food and water (she resource guards). May do best as an only pet.

Current on shots. Heartworm negative.

Friendly girl. Needs a home with a fenced yard so that she can burn energy. She is still young and can use some training.
