Meet Nova

Sweet Nova was rescued from the shelter hours before she would have been euthanized. She is an absolute doll! We have all fallen in love with this sweetheart. We are hoping to find a foster to adopt home for this girl who has so much love to give.

Nova had a thorough wellness exam at our vet and is now vaccinated, parasite free, and microchipped. As you may have read on our Facebook page, Nova is also heartworm positive. She has started her treatment with her first month taking doxycycline pills. She will follow that with one month of observation after taking a heartworm prevention pill. The next month she will receive her first heartworm med injection. That injection will be repeated 1 to 2 more times. The process takes about 6 months. Once the heartworm treatment is done we will have Nova spayed and have her dental cleaning done too.

For that reason we would LOVE for Nova to settle into a foster to adopt home so she doesn't have to wait so long to be with her family that will love her the rest of her life. ALL EXPENSES ARE PAID BY THE RESCUE including vet care of course as well as any other needs such as food, crate, beds, leashes, collars, toys....whatever this girl needs to be totally spoiled! She is currently sleeping in a crate at night next to our bed and doesn't make a peep. House training is a work in progress but she is learning the routine very quickly from the dogs in her current foster home in Blanch, NC (near Yanceyville, NC and Danville, VA).

Nova is GLUE to humans, a wonderful companion dog who just wants love. But don't be fooled by her 7-8 year old age, she's still got spunk and loves to exercise and go for walks and also run out those zoomies! Nova’s foster home has six dogs and six cats. She gets along beautifully with everyone.

If you are interested in meeting Nova to see if she would be a good fit for your family and you are willing to foster her through this time, please complete the application to adopt on our website, vintageracersforrescues.com.

Nova will not have an adoption fee for a family who fosters to adopt.
