Meet Nova

Hello, I am Nova. I am estimated to be about 4-5 years old, though I have the face of a puppy. I originally came from the reservation where I was found as a stray. I was very scared and nervous. It took me a while to get used to living inside a home. I was so scared that I didn’t even dare going outside in the beginning.
I have made huge strides since I have come into rescue. At home, I am still nervous around new people or even when people come into a room and try to approach me. I'd rather come to you on my own terms. I do however warm up very quickly and just love to snuggle and I promise to keep an eye on you at all times.
I would do best with another confident dog in the house. I love chewing on nyla bones and love stuffed toys. I have a lot of spunk and run like crazy outside and roll around in the grass. When you walk by me and I demand your attention, I will nip your pants very playfully. I just don’t like to be ignored by my humans. I am pretty quiet but will bark to get your attention.
My foster mom thinks that I am just the cutest little thing. She also says that I am a great car rider and ignore the cats in the home. I am doing great on my housetraining but could likely have accidents settling into my new home. I would love to have a furry brother or sister to play with. Kids are ok as long as they approach me slowly.
Come and meet me and fall in love with my sweetness.
Adoption fee is $525 + tax (no checks)
Foster to contact: Heike @ heikewhite@yahoo.com.
Please contact the foster to find out if Nova will be attending an upcoming adoption event at the Cottage Grove PetSmart on Saturday from 11-2pm.
Our fosters do the best they can to provide all information about the animal's background and temperament while in foster care in their home. An adopters routine and home environment is likely going to be different than that in their foster home.
Sometimes there is more that comes out about a dog's personality once they have been able to settle in a home and truly become comfortable. There are great articles out there written about the different stages a pet goes through after adoption, discussing transitions that happen at 3 days, 3 weeks, and 3 months. We highly recommend reading about this - it will help you understand the transition your new pet goes through.
