NIGHTLIGHT/AXEL American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Livingston Manor, NY

Nightlight/Axel was a stray back in November 2022 and brought to the NYCACC - the New York City Animal Care Centers - the NYC Municipal Shelter. His time was coming to an end and he was in danger of being euthanized.

One of our great fosters stepped up to save his life.

Axel is an extremely handsome 2 year old altered male large mixed breed dog. He loves to play with toys, especially tennis balls and is a super sweet boy who would do best in a home where he can get lots of exercise to release that puppy energy. His backstory is unknown as he was surrendered as a stray to NYCACC where is was placed on the at risk list because he began to deteriorate at the shelter. Rescued at the 11th hour, Axel formerly known as Nightlight prefers slow introductions to new people and places. Axel however will thrive once he has found his forever home and bonds with his forever owner. He is other dog friendly when properly introduced and would do best with an owner experienced in having multiple dogs in the household. Axel has had some basic obedience training and is crate trained. Axel would do best in a home with no children under 13, with a fenced in yard or with an owner who is active outdoors.
