Nautica ( aka Naughty) is a 5 year old Shih Tzu, weighing 11 pounds, and she is absolutely adorable. She loves sitting in your lap and cuddling but is also ok on her own, happily exploring her surroundings. She LOVES going on a walk and is excellent on a leash. And she has stamina, typically walking 3-4 miles a day! She will bark at some dogs but is mostly curious about them and after a few sniffs is totally fine. She also enjoys running in the backyard playing catch with her toys.

She would do very well in a home with a single person or couple who are retired and very active. She loves being the center of attention so would likely be best as a single dog. At night, she will settle down in her crate but would much rather settle down in bed with you! She sleeps through the night.

She is crate trained in the house and in the car. She appears mostly housebroken but hard to determine as she is coming out of her heat cycle which causes her to urinate more frequently. As a result, she will need to be spayed, so her adoption contract will include taking her to be altered.

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs.

All our dogs have been treated with dewormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption.

We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts.
