Nana (Courtesy Listing) American Staffordshire Terrier Prescott, AZ

"Introducing Nana! Nana is a four-year-old red American Stratfordshire Pitbull Terrier weighing 50 lbs., who is very affectionate and playful. She is initially shy with strangers but once she gets to know you she will adopt you with lots of kisses. She is gentle in nature and has been described as a beautiful soul! Nana enjoys the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with another dog and fenced yard for play and exercise. Nana has never lived with children, although she has been exposed to children and loved them. Nana's current Caregivers took Nana in when Nana's owner became ill and could no longer care for Nana. While Nana has been adjusting to her recent life changes, she has exhibited insecurity when hearing new sounds or noises. If she hears something unknown she will retreat to retire inside to her safe space. Nana is currently in dog training and progressing very well with leash training to enable her to comfortably go on walks in noisy places without any issues. She responds well to positive praise and has learned a few commands. Nana's Trainer is offering one free training session for the new adopter to aid Nana in the transition to a new forever home. Our adoption fee helps cover expenses (vaccinations, microchips, spay/neuter, food, housing) for the homeless pets we rescue. UAF does not adopt or ship outside the state of Arizona. To ensure the best fit, UAF conducts a home visit to meet other pets and verify a safe, secure yard.
