Meet Mr. Pickles! He is a 6-year-old Chihuahua mix in search of a loving forever family. Mr. Pickles was surrendered to us at the beginning of March due to his owner passing away. He has been adapting well to shelter life, and his loving heart and sweet personality has everyone falling in love with him! He arrived very overweight, so he is on a special diet and taking daily walks to help him get healthier and happier. He's almost lost 10 pounds already! Mr. Pickles is dog-friendly and hasn’t shown any reactivity to dogs at the shelter, but we still recommend a dog meet and greet with any canines you already have at home. We think he’d do well with older children that understand he might need space at times. He can take a while to warm up to new people, but once he's attached, he is very loyal to who he considers his person!

Mr. Pickles's adoption fee is $175 and includes up-to-date vaccines, spay/neuter, and microchip. He is a medical adopt due to his special diet, so our clinic staff would like to talk to his future adopters about his care. He needs an adopter that will help him continue to lose weight. At the Humane Society of Southwest Missouri, our goal is to match potential adopters with a pet that is best suited to their home, interests, and lifestyle. All of our animals are up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered, microchipped, given flea/tick prevention, and dewormer.

Anyone is welcome to visit our shelter during our adoption hours of Monday-Saturday, 12-6pm, or Sunday from 12-5pm, no appointment needed.
