Meet Morticia

Morticia's Story
-By Morticia, a 2-year-old, 40lb female Border Collie/Husky mix.
--------------------------------------------

This is all new to me. I was with my family for as long as I can remember. So, you can say that it has been a bit of a whirlwind for me lately. From leaving my home to staying with some other family members, to going to a foster home, and soon I will be going to my forever home once someone sees me and falls in love. Despite everything going on, I have adjusted pretty well. I find myself excited to find my new family. I liked my old life. I had a very good friend who became the father of my pups, and I enjoyed having puppies. I am happy that was my last litter though. And I am excited to see what my future holds. Maybe my family and I will go on adventures. Maybe we will be homebodies. Maybe they will have other dogs for me to hang with. Maybe I will be the only dog and will be their one and only. As the days go by, I become more and more confident and excited. And that brings me to why I am sharing my story. Because I am ready for someone to fall in love and adopt me!

I came into the rescue with Gomez and my two puppies Pugsley and Wednesday. As of right now, they are all still looking to be adopted, so if I am not a good fit be sure to check them out! ♥ We joined this rescue's fluffy butt family after we lost our owner. We ended up staying with a family member but they couldn't keep us and reached out for help. This rescue answered the call for help, and soon we were all safe and sound in foster homes.

I am a very sweet and loving girl. I am on the calmer side but will also play sometimes. As of right now, I am not interested in playing fetch or with any toys. They just don't seem to be my thing. I also have not shown any interest in playing in the water. Now, I do love going on walks and tend to perk up when it is time for one! What I would really love to do is go hiking with my new family. I am calm in the car and ride really well, so will make a wonderful road trip partner. I have only been to the vet s far as public places go. However, I did do very well and enjoyed meeting new people. I was both calm and friendly.

I am good with other dogs. I am both friendly and playful with them. While I think I would enjoy and benefit from having another dog in the home, I do believe I could also be an only dog. However, my owner would need to work from home or be able to take me with them. I would not do well being all alone in the home during a full work day. I am good around cats and pay them no mind. I do great with kids and am pretty calm and chill around them. My foster family hasn't had any visitors since I have been with them but given my chill and sweet personality...I feel that I would do well. I don't jump on people, but when I get really excited to see someone I do sometimes talk to them.

I have good house manners and can be given free roam of the house. I am potty trained and know how to use a doggie door. I am kennel trained but am no longer kenneled in my foster home since my house manners are so good. At night, I like sleeping in bed with my foster parents. I am not really a barker. Now, I will sometimes lightly bark or talk to you in woo-woo's when I get excited.

Have you fallen in love with me? I sure hope so. I am quite excited to meet you and start a new chapter in our lives together. All I ask if you are applying for me is that you be 100%. I have already been through so much change and I would really like this to be the last time I am passed around. I want my new family to stick by my side through job changes, a new baby, moves, and everything life throws at us....because that is what family does ♥

If I sound like the pup for you, please apply to adopt me at
https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app

Once you have submitted your application, it will be sent to my foster family for consideration.

I am being fostered in Skiatook, OK. I do ask that my new family pick me up, none of that outside transport stuff. If I am going to move in with you, I expect to start our journey in the car together driving home TOGETHER. I know I said I was quite nervous on my first car rides, but that has since changed. I am now a CAR DOG. I like to sit and look out the window and watch the traffic!

My adoption fee is $250.00.

That will include my DHLPP, Rabies, and Bordetella. I will be micro-chipped, have a fecal done, be de-wormed, be spayed/neutered, and will be current on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

EPILOGUE

-Below is an excerpt from Morticia's foster family.

"Morticia is incredibly sweet and loving. She has a very nurturing personality and will happily watch over anyone in the family. When you’ve been gone for a little while she will greet you with wiggles and talk to you and tell you how she missed you and that she is so glad you are home now. She’s definitely the kind of girl that you can not only take places with you but she will look forward to going places with you too ??"
