Meet Montoya
Meet Montoya or, as I call him, Toya. A 2 year old sensative beautiful soft timid soul. He and his brother were dumped in a cornfield in horrible shape. Not only feral and fearful but malnourished, thin, and dealing with mange. Everything they were dealing with set them back.
While Inigo is more confident and outgoing, Montoya lacks, but with nurturing, patience, loving, and a gentle touch, he can overcome it all. Montoya is easily pleased. He is very dog friendly, but he must feel safe and comfortable to share his beautiful for-life personality.
Montoya is our gentle sweet boy. He is friendly with all dogs of all sizes and ages and respectful of cats and rabbits. He lives with them all including farm critters. All which he happily respectfully coexist with.
Montoya gravitates to calmer, confident, assertive, playful dogs. He is a follower and will need a dog in the home to continue to overcome his timid unsure nature. Montoya loves to snuggle and cuddle and is somewhat clingy. He is a go-with-the-flow kinda of buddy. He just wishes to love and be loved. Strives to please and finds comfort in human affection. A soft touch makes him glow. Nurturing leadership is his love language and best ability to learn. Montoya is very food and affection-motivated. Enjoys both equally. Toys too! Response to all as long as it's fueleded with love. Montoya is a great easy simple friendly dog with the ability to connect with your soul. Give him the chance and he will not disappoint. Montoya does well on car rides. During walks. Drive through for the occasional cheeseburger or pup cup. Montoya is looking for his soul human to love unconditionally. With Montoya patience and nurturing is everything.
Meet Roxanne, a gorgeous, in every way, typical GS dog. Roxanne is believed to be about 5 years of age. This girl is the perfect dog-friendly dog. She always was and has been. Roxanne was surrendered at no fault of her own. She lacked proper handling training and guidance. Moreover, the owners lacked discipline and dedication. Which caused fear and typical unwanted common GS behavior issues.
Roxanne was surrendered by her owners after she defended herself from the constant attacks by the small breed dog in the home. Her reaction one day matched her size, and before things escalated, she surrendered to a local mutual rescue friend who begged us to help.
Roxanne is a pack dog. She loves and needs to be part of an established balance pack for her to continue to thrive. Roxanne loves dogs as much as she loves humans. She needs both in her life. Roxanne enjoys walks, outings, the outdoors, trails experiencing new surroundings with her people and pack, car rides, and the comfort of her environment and her everyday norm. She is the typical norm GS that thrives with the basic principles- boundaries, guidance, discipline, structure, routine, exercise with adequate guidance. Roxanne has interacted and played and run freely with hundreds of dogs since her time with the rescue. She has met dozens of people without issues. Roxanne thrives in the pack. She learns. Follows explores while maintaining a balanced disposition. Roxanne does have a typical GSD personality and stranger danger fear, but nothing we ever had concerns with. Roxanne feeds off of energy, and confidence is key.
Roxanne is house and crate-trained. Her basic obedience training offers her confidence. Roxanne loves to practice her basic obedience training commands and be rewarded. Roxanne is very food, praise, toy, fun, and highly easily motivated. She's a happy, healthy, dog and human-loving dog. She is a simple girl looking to find a place of her own. Roxanne's recall is perfect, but due to her breed, a fence in the yard is required. Roxanne is 1 of many dogs who need a chance from the right person to help her continue to thrive.
After a day of fun, this girl is the sweetest, funniest, and happiest girl ever. She thrives with affection and nurturing.
She is a family dog with a protective nature. Roxanne needs an active, outgoing family/home/human who will continue to help her maintain her best keep her balance while keeping her safe.
